Can 4 Friends Travel 5 Countries and get 10 Superstars to appear on A Tribute album to 1 Unknown Songwriter?
Whenever I hear any Bon Jovi songs I'm reminded of the time i went to a Bon Jovi concert on Saturday 6th July 1996. The concert on the Milton Keynes Superbowl was right at the end with the mammoth Today tour that moving on 26th April 1995 on the Andheri Stadium Bombay, India and ended on 19th July 1996 on the Helsinki Olympic Stadium.
It took my boyfriend and myself over 3 hours they are driving to Milton Keynes and now we were required to queue for 4 hours until 2pm to get involved with the Superbowl. It had been one particular quirky English weather days, about a minute ab muscles hot sun was beating recorded on us and the next there was clearly torrential freezing cold rain.
Once we had the arena we were able to get a location at the front end from the stage but because more fans arrived and blocked us in I became claustrophobic and worried that we wouldn't be able to escape to the loo through the next 8 hours. I left Mark hugging the front of the stage and escaped to take a seat over a hillock where I acquired a great look at the proceedings because the support bands Seven, Gun and Joan Osborne performed.
The most memorable being Joan Osbornes performance, she was great though the weather was still being quirky plus it became pretty uncomfortable on grass while soaked to the skin. I wandered round for a couple of hours and have become more uncomfortable as being a bloke took a fancy in my experience and commenced to harass me despite being told that I was with my boyfriend.
Seeing my discomfort several Bon Jovi fans told the bloke to leave me alone and inquired about to sign up them. That was lucky for me personally into two ways, the one that it completely got rid of my stalker and yet another because we were within a marvellous position to observe the show, close to the stage but to the right - outside the main crush of fans.
It turned out just before 7.00pm and that i was feeling tired, very wet and shivering from your cold. I could not have been wetter only had stood in a pool fully clothed. Because i tried to warm my chances are numb blue hands I became miserably wishing that we hadn't opted for navigate to the concert.
A few minutes later a helicopter arrived and very soon afterwards I saw the band climbing up the steps concise. Used to do a double take at seeing Jon, he was wearing a decent tan leather jumpsuit which gave the opinion of him being naked from the distance.
This rock band cranked up as well as A couple of hours my discomfort was forgotten as Bon Jovi launched in to a string of these hits including Always, It's My Life, You allow Love A poor Name, Someday I'm going to be A Saturday Night and my very long time favourite Living Over a Prayer.
Imagine a sea well over 60,000 fans joining together with the choruses, swaying, waving and punching the air together. It had been a spectacular sight don and doff stage as Bon Jovi rocked the Superbowl. I used to be enthralled with all the bands performance and stirred with the music along with the interaction in the crowd.
I felt disappointed when a fireworks display ended the magnificent performance 2 hours on, but afterwards Bon Jovi reappeared on an air punching encore to round off the show. I had been still very wet and cold but warmed by way of a magnificent performance through the entire band. I absolutely recommend seeing Bon Jovi together and despite my discomfort I'd personally has it once again - it turned out worth every penny.
I am watching videos from the 2008 Lost Highway tour and believe that Jon Bon Jovi has still got what can be done. Bon Jovi are a fantastic band and 12 years on I'm still a huge fan of Bon Jovi songs and hope that I get a chance to view them together again, but perhaps an indoor concert!
P.S. As for my boyfriend I dumped him as soon as the show. I do not rate someone that lets a lady he could be meant to worry about wander away by themselves all day in the strange place along with a 60,000 plus crowd. He cared more details on finding a place near the stage than my safety. I probably were left with a greater view than he did and that i was able to see a loo after i wanted!
